Changes have been made to the government decree
In Kyrgyzstan, the requirements for knowledge of the Kyrgyz language for civil servants have been strengthened. This has been made possible by changes introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers to decree No. 189, which was adopted on April 4, 2022. This document defines the standard qualification requirements for employees of state and municipal institutions.
Now, for certain categories of administrative positions, mandatory knowledge of the state language has been established, in accordance with the norms outlined in the government legal acts. The requirement for knowledge of the official language, sufficient for the performance of official duties, remains in effect.
The initiators of the changes emphasized that "this decision is aimed at strengthening the role of the state language in the field of public service and improving the quality of administrative activities."
