The system for transferring students in Kyrgyzstan will be made electronic

A large-scale digital reform in the field of school education is planned in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Prime Minister of the country, Adylbek Kasymaliev, has instructed to create an electronic mechanism that will simplify the process of transferring students between schools. This innovation is aimed at eliminating opaque practices and making life easier for parents.

At a recent operational meeting, Kasymaliev noted the existence of serious problems in the current system. There are 2,170 public schools in Kyrgyzstan, where more than 1.5 million children study. However, the process of transferring between educational institutions is still carried out manually, which, according to the Prime Minister, creates opportunities for corruption and leads to the overload of some schools while there are free places in others.

The reform will be based on the successful model of electronic enrollment in the first grade. The new electronic mechanism will provide information about the availability of vacant places in real-time, excluding the influence of school administration on the enrollment process. "The system should automatically show available places, eliminating the human factor. This will make the process more transparent for parents," the Cabinet of Ministers noted.

The need to implement this measure is due to the acute shortage of places in the capital. On January 22, the Deputy Minister of Construction, Talantbek Imanakun uulu, presented the results of an inventory in the Jogorku Kenesh. In 120 schools in Bishkek, designed for 104,000 places, more than 261,000 students are actually enrolled.

The most critical situation is observed in the Lenin and Pervomaisky districts. In the Lenin district, schools are overcrowded by almost three times: with a design capacity of 30,400 places, more than 91,000 children study there. In the Pervomaisky district, the load also exceeds design indicators by almost three times. The situation in the Sverdlovsk and Oktyabrsky districts, while slightly better, remains tense. This data was presented in the context of discussing a draft law on attracting credit funds for the construction of 14 new schools in Bishkek, which should help address part of the problem.

Automating the transfer process will be a necessary step to ensure fair distribution of places and prevent speculation in the field of education.
