At today's meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Umbetaly Kydyraiev raised the issue of the lack of drinking water in several new buildings that have been annexed to Bishkek.

As the deputy noted, during the administrative-territorial reform, residential areas "Muras-Ordo," "Salkyn," and the village of Ozyornoye, which is home to about 15,000 people, were added to the capital, as well as the residential area "Ak-Bosogo," with a population of around 20,000. He emphasized that access to clean drinking water is one of the basic rights of citizens. According to him, 90% of people in Bishkek have access to drinking water; however, many new buildings remain without the necessary water supply. "Without clean water, people may face serious problems, even life-threatening situations," Kydyraiev added.

In response, the director of the State Institution "Development of Drinking Water Supply and Wastewater" Azamat Shadmanov stated that water supply is a direct responsibility of local self-government. He also noted that their institution is working on various projects and programs aimed at addressing the water supply issue, and there are plans to provide residents with water.
