According to the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region, the incident occurred on January 18, 2026. A woman named N.Sh., born in 1971, filed a report with the Kara-Suu District Internal Affairs Department. She stated that three young men of Asian descent, identifying themselves as police officers, forcibly placed her husband in a car and claimed that drugs had allegedly been found on him.
Then, the criminals began demanding 50,000 soms, threatening that otherwise her husband would be held criminally liable and "imprisoned."
The fact was recorded, and a preliminary investigation was initiated.
Based on the collected materials, a criminal case was opened under Article 208 ("Extortion") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Operational and investigative actions are being conducted jointly by the internal security service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Kara-Suu District Internal Affairs Department.
During operational-search activities, the suspects were detained while attempting to receive part of the demanded amount. Among those detained were E.M. (born in 2002) and T.S. (born in 2003), who are currently in custody. The identity of a third accomplice has been established — T. uulu M. (born in 1997), who was also detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to determine the possible involvement of the detainees in other crimes.
