In 2025, there were 739 road traffic accidents in the Jalal-Abad region. This information was announced at a meeting of the working group dedicated to road safety issues, which took place at the office of the presidential representative in the region.

The meeting, attended by heads of local institutions, akims, and mayors of cities and districts, was chaired by the first deputy representative, Nurlan Ermatov. He noted that compared to 2024, the number of accidents increased by 22.3%, which corresponds to 135 cases.

According to the reports, as a result of the accidents, 1,246 people were injured and sought medical assistance. Most incidents occurred on the Bishkek—Osh highway, where 354 accidents took place out of the total 739. This indicates an increase in the number of accidents in populated areas along this route, as well as in the city of Manas.

In particular, in Manas, the number of accidents rose by 62.5% — from 96 to 156 cases. In the Toktogul district, there was also an increase of 42.3% — from 92 to 131 cases, while in the Nooken district, the figures increased by 82% — from 74 to 135. Unfortunately, in some cases, minors were involved in the accidents. In this regard, Nurlan Ermatov emphasized that the responsibility for preventing traffic incidents should not rest solely on road safety employees. Emergency services, institutions, and local government bodies must work together.

During the meeting, Ermatov also presented an analysis of the causes of accidents:

- absence of road signs — 10 accidents;

- lack of night lighting — 27 accidents;

- absence of guardrails — 10 accidents;

- unsatisfactory condition of the roadside — 19 accidents;

- uneven road surface — 2 accidents;

- slippery road surface — 9 accidents;

- absence of road markings — 81 accidents;

- overall unsatisfactory condition of the road — 212 accidents.
