Translated title: "Transferred $110,000. Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic wanted to work in England but fell into the hands of scammers."
According to him, fraudsters are actively spreading false advertisements about job opportunities in the UK and Germany, promising salaries of $6,000-7,000, which is completely unrealistic.
“Such amounts are not even received by the local population of these countries. Nevertheless, our citizens fall for such tricks. In 2025, we received inquiries from 68 people who transferred a total of $110,000 abroad. It is extremely difficult for our law enforcement agencies to identify fraudsters operating outside the country, and citizens should contact Interpol. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has a department for combating cybercrime. According to the ministry's statistics, last year, 78 measures were taken against illegal agencies in Kyrgyzstan,” Ergeshov noted.
He added that illegal employment of citizens abroad is subject to both administrative and criminal penalties. The fine for legal entities is 55,000 soms, while for individuals it is 15,000. Individuals organizing illegal migration can be detained for a period of one to three years.
Esenbek Ergeshov also emphasized that citizens should never hand over their passports to employers.
“A passport is the property of the state, not private property. If an employer demands your passport, it may indicate labor exploitation or human trafficking. It is important to carefully study every clause of the employment contract, including living conditions, food, salary, contract duration, and methods for resolving labor disputes. We also warn about possible fraudulent actions during the legalization of documents. For example, in Russia, our compatriots may act as intermediaries in the registration process,” he added.
