Colonel of the State National Security Committee in reserve, Serik Abiev, has passed away

On January 27, Colonel of the reserve Serik Kekенович Abiev passed away at the age of 54. This was reported by the press service of the State National Security Committee (GKNB) of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Serik Abiev, born in 1972, graduated in 1995 from the Kyrgyz State National University named after J. Balasagyn, receiving a degree in "Law".

He began his career in the national security agencies in November 1995 and held numerous key positions during his service:

- from 1995 to 2001, he worked in the Investigative Department of the GKNB KR;

- from 2001 to 2003, he was in the GKNB KR Department for the Naryn Region;

- from 2003 to 2006, he again worked in the Investigative Department of the GKNB KR;

- from 2012 to 2014, he served as the assistant to the Chairman of the GKNB KR;

- from 2014 to 2017, he headed the Anti-Terrorism Center of the GKNB KR;

- from 2017 to 2022, he worked in the Main Investigative Department of the GKNB KR;

- from 2022 to 2024, he was at the Academy of the GKNB KR;

- from 2024 to 2025, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Security Service of the GKNB KR.

Throughout his service, Serik Abiev was awarded various honors and commendations, including a Certificate of Honor from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, reflecting his high achievements and dedication to duty.

His colleagues and comrades will always remember him as a true officer and leader, characterized by principle and responsibility. He educated many generations of national security personnel, instilling in them high moral principles and respect for the officer's rank, as well as for their Motherland.

"Serik was a kind and responsive person, a reliable comrade, and a faithful friend. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the fortune to know him," emphasized the GKNB.

The leadership, veterans, and staff of the State National Security Committee of the KR express their deep condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
