Aizat Syrgak kyzy, a native of the village of Aral in the Talas region, currently lives in the city of Talas and works as the executive director of the Chess Federation of the Talas region.

In a conversation with a Turmush correspondent, Aizat shared that she graduated from the Kyrgyz State Law Academy — both her bachelor's and master's degrees — with honors. By profession, she is a lawyer and has worked in her field. However, in recent years, her work has been related to chess: she leads a chess club at school and also has her own section.

“My interest in chess began in school years — I learned from my older brother. Then my passion grew so strong that I started practicing on my own. When I entered university, our instructor was looking for girls who played chess, and I mentioned that I could play. I thought I would lose to stronger opponents in the city, but it turned out the opposite: I won against everyone and was accepted into the national team of the Law Academy. After that, I started to practice even harder: I attended classes and then went to chess sessions. During my student years, I participated in many tournaments and championships, winning prizes. And after graduation, I didn’t give up chess; I continued to practice,” she recounts.

One day, Aizat learned that a tournament for female coaches would be held in Kyrgyzstan. “I thought there was no particular need to participate, but my mentor insisted that I go. I agreed and decided to give it a try, although I was sure I would barely make it into the top ten. On the day of the tournament, I came, played, and scored 8.5 points out of 9 — I took first place. This is one of the most memorable and best tournaments of my life. Additionally, I remember the tournament among lawyers: I played against Dastan Bekeshov and won — that was also one of the bright moments. I got married and moved to Talas.

Now my husband and I are raising a daughter. My husband and all my relatives supported me. When I said that this field needs someone who will inspire children, teach, and guide them, they backed me up. If it weren’t for their support, I wouldn’t be able to pursue this work. I often think: if I had been stopped with the words “there is no support,” could I have continued?” says Syrgak kyzy.

Now they have already started taking children to championships across Kyrgyzstan. “Each of these competitions is a new step and additional motivation for the kids. They gain experience in every game and become stronger. I want to bring a lot of new things to this field and achieve new victories,” said Aizat Syrgak kyzy.
