Vasiliy Glatchenko, who lives at the "Jeti-Oguz" resort in the Issyk-Kul region, shared with a Turmush correspondent his pride in being born and continuing to live in Kyrgyzstan.

Vasiliy was born in 1989 and graduated from the Danake Imanova Secondary School in Jeti-Oguz, where he studied in a Kyrgyz class. After that, he learned the profession of a welder at the vocational college in Karakol and soon got a job at the "Jeti-Oguz" resort. In 2009, he met his future wife, Yuliya, who at that time was a 5th-grade student who had moved to their village for her studies. "We grew up together, and from 2009 to 2013, I hid my feelings. One day I decided to confess, and she reciprocated. We got married and have been happily living together since then. In 2015, our first son Ilya was born, and in 2017, our second son Oleg. In 2021, our daughter Daria joined our family. In 2018, we built our own house, putting all our efforts into it, and received support from parents, relatives, and friends," Vasiliy shares.

The Glatchenko family maintains good neighborly relations with those around them. They respect Kyrgyz traditions while not forgetting their own roots. On Orozo Ait and Easter, they set a festive table and welcome guests. Local kids come to read “jaramazan,” and Yuliya traditionally treats them to sweets. For Nooruz, they prepare boorsoks and visit their Kyrgyz friends.

Vasiliy has a brother and a sister; his brother was born in Kazakhstan, while his sister was born in the Jeti-Oguz district. "We often visit relatives in Russia, but our homeland is priceless to us. Our family is strong, and my brother's wife is Kyrgyz. Yuliya and I are happy in Jeti-Oguz, our sons study in a Kyrgyz class and already speak Kyrgyz well. If they don’t understand something, I help them," he shares.

Yuliya also supports her husband. "I moved to the village near the 'Jeti-Oguz' resort in the 5th grade. After school, Vasiliy proposed to me, and I gladly accepted. I am from the village of Konkino. When we got married, I was 17 years old, and Vasiliy was 22. At first, it was hard because everyone spoke to me in Kyrgyz, and I didn’t understand anything," she recalls.

"Over time, I learned, although sometimes I worry that I might say something wrong. Vasiliy speaks Kyrgyz fluently. At the beginning of our journey together, people predicted that we wouldn't be able to live together and would get divorced. But we already have three children. When my husband is at work, I manage the household with our eldest son and take care of the livestock. We even have ten mares and one stallion; we milk them and sell kumyz to tourists. In the summer, I sometimes sell honey. Our family is very close," Yuliya adds.
