The press service of the World Taekwondo Federation has announced that Russian athletes will be able to participate in international competitions with national symbols — the flag and anthem.

The permission applies to both junior and adult athletes from Russia and Belarus. However, it is important to note that tournaments under the auspices of this federation will still not be held on the territory of Russia, and accreditation for government officials from Russia and Belarus will not be issued.

Recall that Russian athletes were suspended from international events in 2022.

In October of last year, the International Sambo Federation allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete under their flags and with anthems at youth and junior competitions.

Additionally, the Executive Committee of the International Judo Federation (IJF) previously made the decision to restore the possibility for Russian athletes to compete under their flag, with the anthem and other national attributes.

The Congress of European Gymnastics (EG) decided to restore the admission of Russian athletes to competitions held under the auspices of the organization.

At the end of December, the International Olympic Committee lifted restrictions on the participation of Russia and Belarus in youth competitions.
