
A press release with information about the number of victims was published on the official page of the administration on social network X. The total number of deceased, as stated in the document, is 3,117 people.
The published list includes the first names, last names, patronymics, and the last six digits of the identification documents of the deceased. It is noted that the names of 2,986 people have already been provided, while the identities of another 131 individuals are still being established.
To support citizens, the Iranian presidential administration has created a new department where information about the injured and deceased can be reported. "We have developed a system that allows for the verification and confirmation of any new information and claims without unnecessary administrative barriers, while respecting the dignity and privacy of individuals," the press service emphasized.
Protests in Iran began on December 28 following a sharp decline in the national currency and rising prices. Participants in the protests demanded a change in the political regime. The authorities denied media rumors that the number of victims could reach 30,000. The authorities announced the suppression of the protests on January 21.
