On February 27, Minister of Health Chinbüren Jigjidsüren and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative Matilda Dimovska signed a memorandum of cooperation. This was reported by MiddlerAsianNews.
According to the Ministry of Health, this memorandum simplifies the process of purchasing essential and expensive medications through UNDP for medical institutions that face frequent supply disruptions. The procurement will be carried out from a single supplier, ensuring compliance with quality standards and reasonable prices.

Chinbüren noted that the government of Mongolia and the ministry place great importance on the quality and pricing of medicines. He emphasized that this memorandum represents the first step toward creating a system that will allow for the procurement of quality medications at reasonable prices. Additionally, the minister expressed gratitude to UNDP for its ongoing support to Mongolia in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and other priorities.
According to the terms of the memorandum, medications for the treatment of hemophilia, which have previously faced shortages and are included in the "List of Diseases and Medicines Subject to State Control," will be purchased. These medications are essential for patients with blood clotting disorders for their prevention and therapy.
Moreover, antiepileptic drugs will also be among the medications to be procured from a single supplier.
