The Foreign Ministers of the CSTO discussed the situation in the Middle East and adopted a joint statement

At the meeting held on March 7, the ministers discussed current events both in the region and globally, including ongoing conflicts and recent escalations of military actions that lead to human casualties and humanitarian crises.

Expressing deep concern over the rise of violence in the Middle East, the ministers condemned actions that threaten the lives of civilians and destabilize the situation in the area.

They noted that any security threats to the member states of the CSTO are a serious issue for the entire organization and emphasized the inadmissibility of the use of force, as well as the necessity to respect the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The ministers firmly condemned attacks on Turkey and Azerbaijan, including strikes on civilian infrastructure carried out from the territory of neighboring countries. They called for preventing the recurrence of such actions, which exacerbate the regional situation and could lead to the expansion of conflicts.

In their statement, the diplomats reaffirmed their support for the sovereignty and security of both countries, expressing solidarity with their peoples and governments.

The ministers also emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully through dialogue in accordance with international law and the principles of the UN Charter. They noted that diplomacy and constructive engagement are the only paths to reducing tensions, halting hostilities, and establishing peace, urging all parties to exercise restraint and negotiate in good faith.

The joint statement also highlights the global consequences of the current crisis. Prolonged instability in this strategically important region could threaten international peace and security, including risks to global energy markets, trade routes, food security, and migration flows.

The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a fair and lasting resolution of the Palestinian conflict based on the principle of a two-state solution in accordance with UN resolutions. They expressed their intention to continue cooperation on international platforms to achieve this resolution and provide humanitarian assistance, especially in Gaza.

Supporting the goals and principles of the UN Charter and international law, the ministers expressed the readiness of the CSTO to support all genuine international efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in this region.

They agreed to closely monitor the current situation and maintain active cooperation within the CSTO on this and other issues of common interest. The ministers firmly stated their support for peace, dialogue, and stability.
