The National Center for Training Specialists in Child Nutrition and Food Production has opened in Ulaanbaatar

The grand opening of the National Center dedicated to child nutrition and training methods took place on March 24, 2026, at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education Gantulga Donorov emphasized the importance of proper nutrition and education in this field for the full growth and development of the younger generation. He noted that the new center will become an important institution for the training and professional development of specialists in this area, as well as contribute to scientific research and methodological work. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia, Choi Jin-won, and parliamentarian Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren also spoke, highlighting the importance of bilateral cooperation.

The center will focus on enhancing the level of education, scientific and methodological work in the field of child nutrition, adapting international experience to local conditions, and training highly qualified specialists.

The center is expected to become a key element in providing students with quality and nutritious meals that meet standards, as well as contribute to the formation of healthy eating habits among children.

As part of this initiative, a new school meal production workshop has also been opened at Secondary School No. 48. This will allow for the creation of safe and nutritious meals that meet school environment standards. The school serves over 4,500 students and accommodates about 2,000 children participating in the school meal program.

The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Korean International Cooperation Agency, and the non-governmental organization VIT. It is part of a broader program aimed at modernizing school meal conditions in 10 educational institutions in the capital and developing human resources. It is expected that the combination of real investments with systemic reforms in child nutrition will make a significant contribution to improving the health of students and the quality of the educational environment.
