This year, the "Milk Program" in Ulaanbaatar will include 189,600 primary school students.

Starting in 2024, the Ulaanbaatar governor's administration will provide milk to 19,000 students from selected schools in the city two to three times a week. To expand the program, the budget for 2026 allocates 8.9 billion tugriks. This funding will allow for the provision of milk to 189,000 students in grades 1-5 of public schools once a week.

According to data from the governor's office, surveys conducted among students and their parents show that regular consumption of milk enriched with vitamin D and calcium contributes to improved dental health and immunity, as well as reducing the risk of osteoporosis in children. Thus, this year, the costs for milk will be partially covered by the governor's administration, partially by district and local authorities, as well as by parents, which will allow students to receive milk three times a week. It is expected that this will have a positive impact on their physical development, health, and academic performance. The experience of other countries, such as China, South Korea, and Japan, indicates that children who regularly consume milk experience an increase in average height. In this regard, starting in 2024, a targeted program called "Milk Immunity" will be launched to support children's growth and strengthen their immune systems.
