
According to the latest data, most of the injured have been hospitalized in medical facilities in Córdoba. Currently, 73 people remain in hospitals, including 24 in serious condition, among them four minors.
The tragedy occurred on the evening of January 18, when the Iryo train, traveling from Málaga to Madrid, derailed and fell onto the tracks. At that time, an Alvia train was moving on the opposite line at a high speed of 200 km/h. One of the deceased was the driver of that train.
In connection with this tragedy, train services between Madrid and Andalusia have been temporarily suspended. The railway operator Renfe has offered passengers the option to change or cancel their tickets for free during the suspension period.
