
As a result of the train crash in Catalonia, Spain, one person died and more than 30 were injured. Following the incident, transport movement in the region was completely suspended.
According to the publication El Mundo, a suburban passenger train derailed near the town of Gelida after colliding with a fallen retaining wall that collapsed onto the tracks due to heavy rains.
This incident was not the only one on the railways of Catalonia. Approximately 130 passengers on a high-speed train became trapped in a tunnel due to issues with the overhead contact system. At the same time, 30 passengers on a second train heading near Fornells de la Selva were evacuated after a tree fell on the tracks.
Three days ago, another crash occurred: a high-speed train with 300 passengers also derailed, resulting in the deaths of 40 people.
