The Republican Institution for Prosthetics and Orthopedics, operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Labor, continues its mission to provide people with disabilities with modern prostheses and mobility aids.
During the reporting period, 11,500 services for the creation and repair of prosthetic devices and individual mobility aids were provided, which is 7% more than in 2024, when 10,700 people benefited from such services.
To finance the institution's work, 123.0 million soms were allocated, which is 10% more compared to the previous year (111.8 million soms). The increase in funding contributed to the expansion of the circle of service recipients and the introduction of new technologies in the field of prosthetics.
Currently, the modernization of production capacities is underway using budget funds amounting to 97.8 million soms. In accordance with the KR Law "On State Procurement," the necessary contracts have been signed, and the supply of modern equipment that meets international standards is in progress, as well as the organization of staff training to operate the new machines.
Additionally, the development and improvement of new models of orthopedic footwear, as well as modern prostheses for upper and lower limbs, taking into account the individual needs of patients, is in an active phase. Prosthetists have created modern active traction prostheses "Kibi" and bionic prostheses "Indi" from the company "Motorika," which is a resident of Skolkovo, for children for the first time.
From 2023 to 2025, 34 children received "Kibi" and "Indi" hand prostheses, with 76% of these products financed from the republican budget.
In addition, within the framework of a cooperation memorandum, interaction is being carried out with the Korean laboratory "FabLab," located in Bishkek. As a result of this collaboration, electronic hand prostheses were manufactured and provided to two adult citizens.
