On March 9, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, chaired by Minister Damir Osmonov, to discuss the analysis of the work of the anesthesiology-resuscitation service for the year 2025 and steps for its further development. The main report was delivered by Zhyldyz Derkembaev, the chief freelance specialist in anesthesiology and resuscitation, a candidate of medical sciences and associate professor. She presented key performance indicators of the service, the state of personnel provision, and the level of equipment in medical institutions, as well as outlined the main problems faced by specialists.

According to the department's information, there are 538 anesthesiologists-resuscitators and 1161 nurses working in the country. There are 733 beds responsible for anesthesiology, resuscitation, and intensive care. In 2025, over 105,000 anesthesias were performed during surgical operations and other medical procedures, and 95,733 patients were treated in resuscitation departments.

The participants of the meeting emphasized that the anesthesiology-resuscitation service is a key element of the healthcare system, ensuring the operation of operating rooms and the treatment of patients in critical conditions.

However, during the discussion, several serious problems were identified. In particular, there was a noted shortage of specialists, especially in remote regions, a high workload on existing doctors, and the need to strengthen training and develop a system of continuous medical education.

Issues related to the equipment and operation of medical devices were also discussed. Specialists noted that although some institutions have modern equipment, part of the equipment needs repairs or is not used properly due to a lack of consumables or insufficient training of medical personnel.

Questions were raised about improving the monitoring of the work of resuscitation departments, enhancing the reporting system, and technical support for medical equipment.

Minister Osmonov emphasized that the development of the anesthesiology-resuscitation service is a priority direction in healthcare, as this service is responsible for treating the most severe patients and supporting surgical assistance.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the minister gave a number of instructions to the relevant departments: to conduct a detailed analysis of the personnel provision of the anesthesiology-resuscitation service by regions and develop proposals for the training and retraining of specialists; to monitor the effective use of high-tech medical equipment in institutions; to strengthen the monitoring of the work of resuscitation and intensive care departments.
