Gulya Kozhokulova, a deputy, addressed the National Bank and the government with a request to take measures to reduce the fees that entrepreneurs pay during financial transactions.

Previously, many businesspeople expressed dissatisfaction that some banks retain between 1% and 1.7% of the amount of transfers during interbank transactions.

“Recently, entrepreneurs appealed to the media with a request to stop financial pressure. This issue concerns both interest rates and transfer fees. The National Bank has not yet provided an official response. I want to know how the National Bank, as the main supervisory authority, is addressing these problems? Commercial banks charge too much for customer service. Currently, the rights of entrepreneurs are seriously infringed. Perhaps we could discuss reducing fees or even abolishing them,” the deputy emphasized.

Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Medet Tairov noted that the issue is being discussed at the level of the Ministry of Economy and the tax service.

“We receive numerous inquiries regarding transfers. At the moment, we are talking about business, as transfers for individuals are free. The discussion continues, as banks are also business structures. Questions regarding the amounts are also under consideration. The fees for clearing and gross systems do not exceed 1-2%,” Tairov reported.

Kozhokulova noted that businesses make significant transfers, and fees in this case also become substantial.

“You emphasized that commercial banks are businesses. This is true. But I have not heard that they operate at a loss. Their goal is always to maximize profit,” the deputy added.
