In the Kyrgyz Republic, attention is focused on improving the production process and increasing export opportunities. This was reported by Azamat Murataliev, head of the trade policy department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in an interview on the radio.

According to him, in recent years, there has been a growth in the number of large enterprises in the country, which contributes to the expansion of production capacities and the introduction of local products into international markets.

Murataliev noted that in the future, the implementation of joint projects with partners from EAEU countries and other regions is planned, which, in his opinion, will enhance the level of mutual trade, considering Kyrgyzstan's strategic location.

He also pointed out the tasks set for the relevant agencies to increase trade volumes with countries such as Uzbekistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Russia, with the possibility of doubling trade turnover in some cases.

To support exports, a program has been developed in the country that includes a number of measures, such as organizing an "export caravan" and creating subsidy mechanisms, as well as partial reimbursement of transportation costs for domestic producers.

The Center for Development and Promotion of Exports, which has been operating for about two years, actively conducts exhibitions in Kyrgyzstan and organizes the participation of local companies in international events, facilitating the promotion of their products abroad.

Particular attention is paid to the light industry. As Murataliev reported, within this sector, a project for preferential lending for small and medium-sized businesses is being implemented. In 2026, it is planned to allocate about 400 million soms for subsidizing interest rates, which will allow borrowers to obtain loans at a rate of about 6%.

The project is designed until 2030 with a phased increase in funding. According to preliminary data, the total volume of subsidies may amount to between 3 to 7 billion soms.

Murataliev added that the allocated funds will be directed towards the purchase of equipment, modernization and expansion of production capacities, replenishment of working capital, refinancing existing loans, as well as launching new productions. The main task is to develop existing enterprises and support new production initiatives for export growth.
