More than 1 billion 176 million dollars have been received in the country's budget
According to information presented by President Sadyr Japarov at a republican meeting, the total income from the activities of 'Kumtor' from 2021 to 2025 will amount to 5 billion 115 million dollars.
The President emphasized that the return of 'Kumtor' to state ownership is a significant step towards strengthening Kyrgyzstan's economic independence.
According to him, more than 1 billion 176 million dollars have been received in the country's budget in the form of tax revenues and mandatory payments. Over the past four years, the state has also received dividends amounting to 441 million dollars, which is equivalent to over 38 billion soms.
Sadyr Japarov noted that between 1994 and 2021, Kyrgyzstan was able to receive only about 100 million dollars in dividends from 'Kumtor'.
"Previously, 410 tons of gold were exported from 'Kumtor', and only 1 ton of that volume benefited our country. Now, however, 'Kumtor' has become a reliable source of income for the budget, which is used to finance social programs and infrastructure projects," the president added.
