On February 27, at a republican meeting in the state complex Intymak Ordo, President Sadyr Japarov shared the results of the transfer of the Kumtor deposit into state ownership.

He noted that the issue of Kumtor had long been a source of much debate and public discussion. According to the president, this strategically important facility has become a cornerstone for the country, and its return under state control has been a fundamental issue for him since the beginning of his political career.

Japarov reminded that in 2021, "Kumtor" fully became the property of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the president, from 2021 to 2025, the total revenue from operations at "Kumtor" will amount to 5 billion 115 million dollars, which is equivalent to over 440 billion soms. The country's budget will receive 1 billion 176 million dollars in the form of taxes and mandatory payments, or over 100 billion soms.

Additionally, over four years, the state will receive 441 million dollars, which amounts to over 38 billion soms in the form of dividends. For comparison, the president mentioned that from 1994 to 2021, Kyrgyzstan earned only 100 million dollars in dividends from this project.

According to him, the enterprise currently provides a stable income for the budget, allowing for the financing of social obligations and infrastructure projects.
