In Osh, residents of the city have noticed a lack of traffic lights and road signs following repair work on the streets.

Turmush reports that on March 25, a meeting took place between representatives of the municipality, the internal affairs department, and the city prosecutor's office with local residents.

During the meeting, residents raised the issue of the absence of necessary road signs and traffic lights on the recently renovated streets. One resident of Remeslennikov Street noted that after the repair of Alisher Navoi Street, the speed of vehicles has significantly increased, which, in turn, has led to a rise in traffic accidents.

According to her, there have been several incidents involving children recently, one of which ended tragically — a child was killed. "Alisher Navoi Street has been completely paved, but now cars are moving at very high speeds. There are clearly not enough speed limit signs. In response to our request for traffic lights, we were told that permits for installation are not granted. We are asking for traffic lights and speed limit signs to be installed in these areas," she said.

Residents also pointed out the lack of pedestrian crossings and corresponding signs in the area from Kurmanjan Datka Street to the Teshik-Tash market. This issue was also brought up for discussion.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that urgent marking of pedestrian crossings, installation of traffic lights, and a significant increase in the number of speed limit signs are necessary on all recently repaired road sections.

According to information from the Osh city administration, approximately 82–83 kilometers of roads and 21–22 kilometers of sidewalks were repaired in the city in 2025.
