The system is designed for integrated water resource management
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has developed an automated information system known as the "Unified Information System for Water" (AIS UISW). This initiative is part of a broader program for the digitization of water resource management services.
The main goal of the new system is to optimize water resource management in the field of irrigation. It aims to enhance the efficiency of planning, accounting, and monitoring of water supply, as well as to ensure transparent use of water resources.
The AIS UISW aggregates data on objects and participants of the irrigation fund, water users, water management facilities, and irrigation systems in a unified digital space. The system provides the ability to plan the supply of irrigation water, keep records and monitor water consumption, analyze quantitative and qualitative indicators of water, and generate necessary reports.
Additionally, geographic information technologies (GIS) are integrated into the system, allowing for the maintenance of spatial data on surface water resources, irrigation systems, and irrigated areas considering types of agricultural crops.
The launch of the AIS "Unified Information System for Water" across the country is scheduled for early 2026. Further plans include phased modernization of the system, expansion of its functional capabilities, automation of public services, and the introduction of digital services for water users.
