During the meeting, relevant issues of further cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union were also raised, including inter-parliamentary relations, human rights protection, and freedom of speech.
The President noted that establishing a partnership with the EU remains one of the key priorities of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy and expressed readiness to continue deepening mutual relations.
Sadyr Japarov also emphasized the importance of the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the Jogorku Kenesh and the European Parliament, calling it an important mechanism for productive dialogue.
“We view inter-parliamentary interaction as an effective way for open exchange of opinions on issues of internal development and foreign policy,” the president noted.
Giuseppina Princi, in turn, thanked the president for the warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss important issues. She noted the positive dynamics in the relations between the European Union and Kyrgyzstan.
Members of the European Parliament emphasized the progress made by Kyrgyzstan in recent years, noting the resilience of socio-economic development and efforts to modernize governance.
The delegation members expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and highlighted the importance of developing educational ties, including student exchange programs and new opportunities for youth.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to develop cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the EU in key areas of mutual interest.
Sadyr Japarov assured that Kyrgyzstan is open to further cooperation and considers this meeting an important step towards strengthening sustainable dialogue with the European Union.
