According to the company's representatives, the work is currently 80% complete. Initially, the project was supposed to be completed in 36 months; however, due to increased construction rates, this period has been reduced to 24 months.
According to published data, the expected annual electricity generation will be 600 million kWh. By February 2027, the total investment in the project will reach 280 million US dollars.
The first phase of the power plant, with a capacity of 100 MW, is planned to be commissioned in August 2026, while subsequent phases will be completed in August 2027.
Additionally, Kasymaliev also learned about the solar power plant project being implemented by the Vietnamese company Rox Energy Global in the village of Kyzyl-Oruk, also located in the Issyk-Kul region.
The construction of the "Issyk-Kul-1" power plant started in September 2025. The project includes a total installed capacity of 1,900 MW with investments amounting to 1.4 billion dollars.
The station will produce up to 3.6 billion kWh of environmentally friendly electricity per year. The project will be implemented in phases:
- first phase — 150 MW;
- second phase — 450 MW;
- third phase — 1,300 MW.
The completion of the construction of the "Issyk-Kul-1" solar power plant is scheduled for 2028.
