At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 4, Deputy Ismanali Joroev pointed out the neglect of the Karagach Grove, where some areas are polluted with garbage.

Joroev emphasized that the Karagach Grove is one of the oldest and most valuable green corners of the capital, established in 1981 by botanist Fetisov. The total area of the grove is 136.6 hectares, of which only 40 hectares are well-maintained. This green area is home to dozens of species of trees and shrubs, such as elm, yew, maple, walnut, linden, and poplar, as well as the Komsomol and Pioneer lakes.

“Unfortunately, today this unique area does not receive the attention it deserves: only one lake operates in the summer, the other is not functioning, and the sanitary condition of the forest leaves much to be desired. Many areas are polluted with household waste. We often talk about the importance of environmental safety and a green economy, but if we do not take care of such historical and natural resources, they may be lost forever,” he noted.

To improve the condition of the grove, Joroev proposed the following measures:

1. Implementation of a municipal program for the restoration of the Karagach Grove: pruning damaged trees, restoring green plantings, and planting new trees.

2. Complete reconstruction of irrigation and water supply systems, cleaning the lakes, and putting them into operation.

3. Gradual transformation of the grove into an eco-park, including the organization of safe walking and cycling paths, as well as the installation of lighting and video surveillance.

4. Development of a public-private partnership scheme for the creation of small piers, pedestrian bridges, and recreational areas in the format of a "small Venice."
