The unique area continues to remain without proper care.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Ismanali Zhorov raised the relevant issue of the condition of the Karagachev grove, located in the very heart of the capital.
He noted that this area includes the Komsomol and Pioneer lakes.
However, according to him, this unique zone does not receive the attention it deserves. In the summer, only one of the lakes is actively used, while the other and a significant part of the forest are in a neglected state. Many trees are drying up, the irrigation system is not functioning, and sanitary cleaning is carried out at an insufficient level. In some places, dumps are forming.
“We actively discuss issues of environmental safety and green economy in our capital, but we cannot preserve such important historical green sites,” the deputy emphasized.
In light of the above, he proposed to develop a separate municipal program for the restoration of the Karagachev grove, conduct an inventory, restore dead trees, and plant new saplings.
A complete update of the irrigation system is also required, as well as the cleaning of the lakes and their re-commissioning.
The deputy suggested gradually transforming the area into an eco-park, creating pedestrian and bicycle paths, ensuring proper lighting, and installing video surveillance.
In addition to this, he expressed the idea of creating small boat stations, pedestrian bridges, and recreation areas in the style of “little Venice.”
