“The lawsuit was initiated at the request of the government”
The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic has filed a lawsuit against Russia regarding medical care for migrants. This was reported by A. Mukanova, chairwoman of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, in the Jogorku Kenesh.
According to the agency, the statement was sent through the Judicial Representation Center under the Ministry of Justice of the KR. The main goal of this lawsuit is to obtain clarifications on paragraphs 3 and 4 of Article 98 of the EAEU Treaty, signed on May 29, 2014, regarding access to social security, including mandatory health insurance, for family members of workers from the member states of the Union.
The Fund noted that Kyrgyzstan consistently fulfills its obligations within the framework of the EAEU. Family members of migrants from Union countries who are legally present in Kyrgyzstan have the right to medical assistance through the mandatory health insurance system, according to the State Guarantees Program.
The issue of access to the mandatory health insurance system for families of Kyrgyz citizens in other EAEU states is regularly raised by the Kyrgyz side within the framework of the Union's working bodies, intergovernmental commissions, and consultation platforms. The lawsuit in the EAEU Court is part of the dialogue within the integration process.
