The company's position was deemed erroneous
The Trading House "Kulikovsky" faced criticism from deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh for filing a lawsuit against blogger Aitilek Orozbekov.
Deputy Baktyyar Kalpaev noted that the company's actions and its decision to go to court are incorrect. He emphasized that "the situation is actively discussed in society. The blogger has been under house arrest for nine months for asking the company's employees to serve clients in the state language." Kalpaev also questioned the representative of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, Umutkan Konkubaev, about the legality of such a decision.
Umutkan Konkubaev responded that it is necessary to study the relevant documents to provide a comment.
"In our country, laws have been adopted aimed at supporting and developing the Kyrgyz language. The president speaks it on the international stage, and the head of the GKNB calls on investors to use Kyrgyz in their activities. The company should respect its people and language, as well as actively promote its study among its employees," the deputy added.
It is worth noting that the blogger demanded service in the state language at one of the establishments of the Trading House "Kulikovsky." As a result, the company filed a complaint against him. Public opinion is divided: some believe that the blogger should be punished for his behavior, while others are convinced that Aitilek Orozbekov did not violate the laws of Kyrgyzstan and are calling for a boycott of the company's products.
Aitilek Orozbekov is a content creator who publishes videos demanding service in the state language from restaurants and cafes.
In November 2024, he was detained on charges of publicly calling for the violent seizure of power. In January 2025, he was found guilty under part 2 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the court in the Pervomaisky district of Bishkek imposed a fine of 70,000 soms on him. The blogger did not admit his guilt.
