Janibek Abirov proposed to change the wage system for technical and junior support staff
Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Janibek Abirov pointed out that in light of the upcoming salary increase for teachers, the technical and junior support staff of schools remain overlooked.
He reminded that on December 25, President Sadyr Japarov announced plans to double teachers' salaries starting in April. However, according to Abirov, representatives of the technical and junior support staff—cleaners and junior support staff responsible for the cleanliness, safety, and technical condition of educational institutions—have already approached him.
The deputy noted that in one of the schools in the capital, workers such as cleaners, security guards, janitors, and cafeteria staff receive only 8,448 soms with a coefficient of 1.20. While the salary of a secretary is 8,800 soms, and the supply manager earns 12,320 soms, some workers receive as little as 5,500 soms.
Abirov emphasized that under the current prices and inflation level, it is practically impossible to survive on 8,000 – 8,500 soms in Bishkek.
He called on the government, if no salary increase for technical and junior support staff is planned for April, to at least reconsider the coefficients or consider the possibility of a separate salary increase for this category of workers.
It is worth noting that earlier, at one of the Jogorku Kenesh meetings, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev stated that in 2026, the first priority would be to increase salaries for technical and junior support staff.
