At the National Center for Maternal and Child Health (NCMCH), dental care has been organized for children with disabilities, as reported by the medical institution.

According to the center, emergency surgical assistance is also provided, which is carried out under sedation or anesthesia. A routing system has been developed for patients.

The NCMCH has a maxillofacial surgery department with 28 beds, where specialists also conduct outpatient consultations.

Every day, about 50-60 children seek emergency dental surgical assistance.
Annually, over 27,000 children receive outpatient care, while around 1,200 require inpatient treatment. Surgeries are performed for 85% of hospitalized patients; however, doctors often face time constraints for servicing.

“Caring for children with disabilities requires special conditions, including specialized equipment and additional medical staff. According to preliminary data, 2-3 children with disabilities visit the NCMCH daily. The process of receiving and servicing one such patient takes about an hour. The doctors in the maxillofacial surgery department of the NCMCH have undergone training to work with children with special needs at the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training,” the statement noted.

Earlier, deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva raised the issue of dental services for children with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. “In fact, no child has received state assistance for dental problems. I continue to communicate with mothers, and the treatment of one tooth costs 50,000 soms. Assistance is needed,” she stated.
