In the city of Tokmok, Jamiliya Dzhamanbaeva, the ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with local residents, gathering over 200 participants from the Issyk-Ata, Chui, and Kemin districts, as well as from Tokmok and Kant. The main concerns addressed were related to socio-economic issues.
Particular attention was paid to the problems faced by people with disabilities. Meeting participants raised issues regarding the inaccessibility of urban infrastructure, the need to increase benefits, the creation of comfortable conditions in schools, and the opening of specialized centers. Parents noted that children with autism are often not accepted into educational institutions.
Additionally, mothers of children with disabilities shared their difficulties related to undergoing medical and social expertise. One participant said: "We are forced to bring our children for examination, even if they cannot move. I have to take my adult child by taxi, as we are not allowed on public transport."
Issues were also raised regarding the lack of passports due to lost documents, the shortage of land plots for housing construction, and the environmental consequences of quarry development in the village of Boz-Boltok.
Jamiliya Dzhamanbaeva assured those present that work would be carried out on each of the submitted requests. She noted: "For the first time in 23 years, more than 70% of the recommendations of the ombudsman, approved by the resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh, have been implemented. This indicates our effectiveness."
As part of the first round of the "Karavan Prava" program, the ombudsman plans to visit the Chui, Issyk-Kul, and Naryn regions, where institute staff will provide legal assistance and accept applications on-site.
