In 2025, 9,672 people contacted the Ombudsman Institute of the Kyrgyz Republic

During the reporting period, 49 appeals were received from women, of which 29 concerned cases of domestic violence. Additionally, 36 complaints regarding violations of children's rights were registered.

Jamila Jamangbaeva, the Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan, noted that 56 citizens sought legal assistance regarding alimony collection issues. Residents of the country also sought assistance in obtaining passports and other identity documents, as well as in protecting their rights to freedom of religion.

12 individuals requested help from the Institute regarding extradition issues. All appeals were processed within the powers of the Ombudsman Institute, including legal consultations and the sending of official letters to state authorities requesting the restoration of violated rights.

According to information received by the Institute, compatriots abroad also reached out for assistance. In 2025, there were 14 appeals from Russia, 8 from Uzbekistan, 2 from Kazakhstan, and 1 from Belarus.

The Akikatchy Institute also ensures the protection of the rights of foreign citizens in Kyrgyzstan. Over the year, there were 3 appeals from Turkish citizens, and legal assistance was provided to citizens from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Egypt.

In 2025, employees of the Akikatchy Institute conducted 811 monitoring visits, of which 328 were in places of detention, 90 in military units, 48 in stationary social institutions, 133 in educational institutions, and 54 in medical organizations.

As a result of reviewing the appeals, the Institute sent 141 response acts to authorized state bodies, of which 122 were executed. A response act is an official document prepared upon the identification of legal violations aimed at their elimination and holding the guilty parties accountable.

The largest number of acts were sent to educational and medical institutions, law enforcement agencies, and local government bodies. As a result, 109 officials were subjected to disciplinary responsibility, including 15 law enforcement officers.

Jamila Jamangbaeva emphasized the importance of respecting human rights and freedoms as the foundation of a stable and developed society and called on state authorities for more active cooperation in this area.
