The draft resolution "On the Issues of Regulating the Activities of Municipal Parking Lots and Stands in the City of Bishkek" will be reviewed by the Bishkek City Council. The initiative was proposed by the city administration.

The purpose of this document is to organize parking spaces and reduce congestion on city roads. The city administration emphasizes that uncontrolled parking leads to an increase in the number of vehicles and exceeds the capacity of the road network, especially in the city center.

In the central part of Bishkek, it is planned to introduce a zonal parking fee, which will range from 30 to 50 soms per hour.

With the implementation of an automated payment system, it is expected that the tariff will be 30-50 soms for the first two hours and 20 soms for each subsequent hour.

The municipality believes that the introduction of paid parking will help reduce traffic jams, organize traffic flow, ensure free movement for pedestrians, and increase revenues for the city budget to develop parking infrastructure.

Starting in 2025, the Code of Offenses is expected to establish liability for evading parking fees. The fine for individuals will be 10 calculated indicators, and for legal entities — 50 calculated indicators.

The project also describes the rules for the operation and use of municipal parking lots and stands in Bishkek.
