In the Issyk-Kul region, in the village of Zhylyu-Bulak of the Tyup district, local residents celebrate the holiday of Nowruz. One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the appearance of the outline of a horse's head on the surface of the sumolok when the cauldron was opened.

This amazing event was perceived by the residents as a sign of good fortune and blessing. The village elders interpreted it as a symbol of the unity of the forty Kyrgyz tribes under a common banner (tündük). "Sumolok is a dish whose preparation tradition has been passed down from our ancestors. In honor of Nowruz, we added seven ingredients to it, and when the morning aksakals and mothers in white elecheks opened the cauldron, they saw the image of a horse's head, which was taken as a good omen," shared the locals.

In Zhylyu-Bulak, descendants of six clan lines live. The locals decided that preparing this dish would become a new tradition, passed down from generation to generation, to unite all the villagers every year.
