In the Naryn region, work is actively ongoing to regulate family celebrations and memorial rituals. As part of this process, an analysis of the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 54 is being conducted, which aims to reduce unnecessary financial expenditures.
According to the regional administration, the deputy representative of the president in the region, Aydana Imanalieva, held a meeting to discuss the progress in implementing this decree. She emphasized the importance of systematically continuing this work and drew attention to cases of animal slaughter that exceed the established norms.

“Some citizens, by cutting their budget for funerals, celebrations, and memorial rituals, direct the saved funds towards improving infrastructure: road repairs, street lighting, greening, and installing benches near social facilities. Examples of such initiatives should be regularly highlighted in the media. The main goal of this provision should be communicated to everyone,” emphasized Aydana Imanalieva.
According to statistics from 2025, 147 heads of cattle, 913 horses, and 186 sheep were slaughtered during memorials and celebrations in the region. As part of the explanatory campaign, 544 meetings with residents of the region were also held.
According to current regulations, in the Naryn region, during family celebrations and memorial rituals, it is permitted to slaughter one large cattle and one sheep.
