According to him, the new fields will be located in the northern part of the Botanical Garden, on Akhunbaev Street.
“The football field that existed earlier was part of the Botanic Garden from its very beginnings. We are simply updating it, not creating something new. The total area of this zone of the Botanical Garden is 87 hectares, and the mini-fields will occupy only 16 acres, which is just 0.18% of the entire territory. I hope that such a small intervention will not harm the Botanic Garden,” he noted.
In addition, Kanatbek Abdrakhmatov commented on reports about tree cutting in this area. He pointed out that in recent years, the Botanical Garden on Akhunbaev Street has fallen into disrepair, which led to the decision to “remove all overgrown areas using a bulldozer.”
“It is possible that some useful plants were also removed. Nevertheless, in the new garden, we plan to plant both the uprooted tree species and new ones that did not previously grow there. We hope that in a few years our updated Botanical Garden will become a beautiful and attractive place,” added the head of the NAS KR.
He also noted that scientific research continues in the Botanical Garden located on Gorky Street.
Earlier, the administration of the Botanical Garden reported that the presidential administration began construction of two football fields to the left of the main entrance, along 7 April Street. The site was chosen due to the rocky soil and lack of water, which hindered the growth of greenery.
It is worth noting that in January 2025, the research institute "Enver Gareev Botanical Garden" was granted the status of a specially protected natural area, which was approved by the chairman of the cabinet of ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
