The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the importance of dialogue and protecting the interests of citizens
Zheenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, commented on the sanctions imposed by Western countries and changes in the visa policy of the United States. He noted that Kyrgyzstan continues to cooperate with key trading partners in accordance with national legislation. In this regard, the minister proposed conducting an independent audit to verify compliance with the sanctions measures. He believes that the restrictions imposed by Western countries lack sufficient economic and legal justification.
Regarding the new US visa rules, Kulubaev noted that deportations only affect those individuals who have been in the country for an extended period without a visa and necessary documents, while legally residing foreigners are not at risk. The minister also expressed concern about the high amounts of visa bonds, which range from $5,000 to $15,000, deeming them excessive for citizens of Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized that discussions with the American side on these issues are ongoing.
