At a press conference held on January 15 in Bishkek, Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed his position against the sanctions imposed on Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is constantly engaging with representatives of the European Union and the USA, conducting consultations on sanctions measures.

“We have provided the necessary documents and proposed to conduct an independent audit; however, our foreign partners consider this impractical and continue to impose sanctions unilaterally. This is wrong, as Kyrgyzstan is located in the center of Central Asia and plays an important role in transit trade. We continue to work in this direction, but we cannot halt trade with our regular partners. Our economy is limited, and we need to maintain trade relations to ensure the security and well-being of our people. We comply with all international obligations and expect them to provide evidence, but they cannot do so and instead impose sanctions, which is unlawful,” Kulubaev added.
