Last year, over 8,000 sports events took place in the country
More than 40% of the population of Kyrgyzstan regularly engages in physical culture and sports. This information was announced by Kazybek Moldazhiyev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on science.
According to him, in 2025, 8,366 sports events were organized, with more than 428,000 citizens and athletes participating.
Among the most popular sports are football, volleyball, athletics, and strength training. In addition, sports sections, outdoor workout areas, and fitness gyms are actively developing in the country.
