As part of the project, the approval of two main documents is anticipated: the procedure for mandatory conformity assessment for machines, equipment, materials, and products involved in the production and circulation of food products, as well as a list of information for state monitoring and the rules for its presentation by certification and customs authorities.
One of the provisions emphasizes that all materials and products that come into contact with food must have the appropriate document confirming their compliance with the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union.
This measure is aimed at preventing the use of unsafe substances and protecting consumer rights.
The explanatory note states that the project does not introduce new obligations; rather, it systematizes existing requirements, eliminating ambiguities and simplifying the practical application of the norms. The introduction of unified procedures will allow for the creation of a comprehensive digital database, improve interaction between agencies, and implement a risk-oriented approach in food quality control.
According to the document, ministries and agencies have been given a six-month period to bring their regulatory acts into compliance with the new rules. Accredited certification bodies will be required to follow the updated procedure.
