At the meeting of the Parliament, Deputy Bolotbek Borbieyev expressed his concern about the rising prices for housing and rent in the country. He noted that the cost of housing has significantly increased and has become unaffordable for most people.

“Rent has also reached global levels, which heavily impacts the citizens' wallets. Currently, only those who work abroad can afford to buy housing. It is necessary for the government to address this issue and provide assistance to the population regarding housing,” he emphasized.

Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Head of the Cabinet, agreed that this is a serious problem. He added, “As you know, housing is being built through the State Investment Corporation, and mortgage lending is actively developing. This organization helps stabilize the market. Without the State Investment Corporation, prices could have risen even more. The cost of housing is also influenced by land prices, which are currently limited. A commission is working on issues related to providing citizens with housing; this is a priority for us,” he said.

Jyldyz Sadyrbaeva, a deputy, noted that on average, the cost of housing in the country has increased by 27 percent. “We understand that the economy of the country depends on imports, but how does the Ministry of Construction plan to support domestic manufacturers of building materials?” she inquired.

Minister of Construction Nurdana Oruntaev responded to this question, noting that the majority of building materials are still imported into Kyrgyzstan from other countries. He added that previously, metal mainly came from Russia, but now the import of metal from China has been permitted.

“We are taking all possible measures to reduce costs in the construction sector,” he concluded.
