According to an unnamed U.S. official, this will be the first meeting of the 'Council of Peace' and a conference aimed at raising funds for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The meeting is expected to take place at the U.S. Institute of Peace. Last week, the administration of Donald Trump began active contacts with several countries to invite their leaders to this event.
Currently, preparations for the summit are in the early stages, and changes to the plans are possible, as Axios reports. The White House has not yet commented on this information.
It is worth noting that on January 22, U.S. President Donald Trump officially announced the establishment of the 'Council of Peace' during a ceremony to sign the charter at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The document was signed by representatives of 19 states.
The 'Council of Peace' was established in accordance with an agreement between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas, and its main goal is to manage the Gaza Strip. However, its powers will also include preventing and resolving conflicts in other regions.
