The Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov commented on the recent events concerning the political situation in the country.

“Key decisions of state importance have always been made based on joint consultations and discussions. This was a conscious system of shared responsibility, which, to the surprise of many, has been maintained for a long time,” he noted.

According to him, in the future, such a model could continue to serve the interests of the people. General Tashiev has repeatedly publicly expressed his support for the president, confirming his right to continue the reforms. “These statements were clear and unequivocal,” added the deputy head of the cabinet.

However, pursuing personal interests, some began to speak on behalf of the president, promoting ideas about allegedly made decisions regarding power and creating an atmosphere of uncertainty. This led to the destabilization of the stability that had been ensured for many years.

“Due to these provocations, a rift has emerged between Sadyr Japarov and Kamchybek Tashiev, which threatens the stability of society. This is unacceptable for the state. Power must remain clear and focused in one center of responsibility,” emphasized Baisalov.

President Sadyr Japarov has sworn allegiance to the people and the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic. His duty is to maintain unity and stability, protect the supremacy of the Constitution, and prevent the usurpation of power,” he added.

Baisalov also noted that we should not repeat past mistakes when important state decisions were reduced to personal relationships. “The president must serve the people and the Constitution, and personal connections cannot prevail over his duties,” he stated.

It is important that the discussion of key state issues does not boil down to personal conflicts between two individuals,” added the deputy chairman of the government.

He also pointed out that in recent years there has been a disbalance in the governance system, both at the government level and at the local level. The excessive concentration of functions in security agencies has led some of their representatives to act beyond their authority, creating an atmosphere of fear. This has provoked just criticism from society and the youth.

History shows that when legality is replaced by political expediency, it undermines the foundations of a constitutional state,” he added.

Baisalov emphasized that excesses justified by good intentions do not align with the spirit of the Constitution. Kyrgyzstan must remain a rule-of-law state and protect the rights of every citizen. It is necessary to leave in the past the period when certain agencies had powers that did not correspond to their functions.

“I regret that this stage of our political history ended so unexpectedly. However, it must be acknowledged that it had to end. We must give credit to General Tashiev for his calls for stability and refusal of illegal actions,” he noted.
Now, Kyrgyzstan faces important tasks, including hosting international events and celebrating the 35th anniversary of independence. It is crucial that this takes place in a calm and stable environment. Presidential elections are scheduled for January next year.

Baisalov called for unity around the elected president Sadyr Japarov and support for the course aimed at strengthening legality and stability for the future of Kyrgyzstan,” he concluded.
