On February 10, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree according to which Kamchybek Tashiev was relieved of his duties as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State National Security Committee.

Despite the information that Tashiev lost all his positions, in reality, he only resigned from his government posts.

Tashiev continues to hold several significant positions.

He is the co-chairman of the political party "Ata-Jurt," founded in 2006 together with Sadyr Japarov. In September 2024, he announced that this party would not participate in local elections.

Since 2008, he has also held the position of Vice President of the Boxing Federation.

As of February 2024, Tashiev became the President of the Kyrgyz Football Union, being the only candidate for this position.

In his opening speech, he emphasized that football is not only a popular sport but also a crucial component of the country's image and international status.

“Many heads of state attach great importance to the development of football, and President Sadyr Japarov actively supports this initiative. He also closely monitors all events related to this sport. Previously, the state's attention was insufficient, but starting this year, we will begin allocating the necessary funds for development,” he noted in his speech.

He also added that Kyrgyzstan should learn from Asian countries that have managed to elevate football to a high level.

“Today we are starting this journey, and I am confident that it will yield positive results. However, it is important to understand that results will not be immediate; it will take time. First of all, we need to address personnel issues and enhance the qualifications of coaches, referees, and other specialists in the field of football. We plan to renovate and construct stadiums, as well as improve the material and technical base,” Tashiev shared about his plans, adding: “For the successful implementation of our ideas, we need unity and cooperation. We must come together to reach new heights in football.”

In June 2025, Kamchybek Tashiev was appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin. His deputy became Artem Novikov, head of the board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund.

According to the regulations of the Board of Trustees, its goal is to assist in addressing the current challenges of university development and to establish it as a center for training highly qualified specialists capable of meeting modern challenges in education and science.
