President Sadyr Japarov stated that the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev will not have a negative impact on the fight against organized crime.

He noted that at the moment, organized crime is absent in Kyrgyzstan, as it was before. However, according to him, crimes still occur, and it is impossible to completely eradicate them, as in all countries.

“The organized criminal groups that used to control the situation no longer exist. Those who collected taxes even from women in markets are either in prisons or hiding abroad. If criminal elements plan to return and restore their rules, they are mistaken,” the president emphasized.

In his opinion, Kyrgyzstan has radically changed since 2020. “Now it is a completely different country, and the new government will not collude with criminals. Therefore, organized crime will no longer be a problem,” he added.

Japarov also noted that the fight against corruption is a continuous process.

“It will continue forever. No country in the world can claim to have completely eradicated corruption. Even in Singapore, which is considered a model, the level of corruption is 15-16%,” he said.

At the same time, he stated that dealing with crime was not difficult.

The president noted: “We brought order in one day. However, we have not been able to completely defeat corruption over the past five years. With God's help, in the future, we will try to reduce its level as much as possible. We have all the opportunities for this. I instructed the law enforcement agencies: ‘In the fight against crime and corruption, act without showy operations and PR, work calmly and professionally,’” he summarized.
