Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Gulya Kozhokulova expressed her doubts regarding the initiative to shorten the deadlines for considering citizens' appeals. The discussion concerned the draft law "On the Procedure for Considering Citizens' Appeals."

According to the terms of the draft law, it is planned to reduce the time within which government agencies must respond to citizens' appeals from 14 to 10 working days.

The member of parliament pointed out that the number of complaints from the population to government agencies is increasing every year.

“Previously, the deadline for consideration was one month, then it was reduced to 14 days, and now an even greater reduction to 10 days is being proposed. Despite progress in digitalization, sometimes government agencies need time to prepare a quality response or conduct additional checks. If the law is adopted, this may lead to hasty responses and formal replies without proper verification,” she noted.

Gulya Kozhokulova also inquired about the opinion of the General Prosecutor's Office on this draft law. Deputy General Prosecutor Zalkarbek Ak Nazarov replied that the agency had issued a negative conclusion on this document.
