The Minister of Water Resources and Agriculture met with the IMF Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan

On January 19, Bakyt Torobaev held a meeting with Farid Talyshly, the permanent representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Kyrgyzstan. This information was provided by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The agenda included issues related to cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the IMF.

During the meeting, it was noted that the large-scale reforms carried out in recent years have received positive assessments from international rating agencies. These reforms are aimed at stabilizing economic activity, supporting key sectors, modernizing infrastructure, and improving the investment climate.

For more than three decades, the IMF has implemented 12 programs in Kyrgyzstan, which have significantly influenced the support of the economy, reduced poverty levels, and contributed to sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

It was also emphasized that over the past three years, the average growth rate of the country's economy has been 9%. This success has been made possible by effective government measures aimed at modernizing the economy, creating a favorable investment climate, improving the competitive environment, and implementing reforms in the public administration system.
